Sehun: "Taehyung! Y/N!"
You both froze.
In an instant, the moment shattered.
You and Taehyung quickly stepped away from each other, the space between you suddenly feeling too vast.
Neither of you spoke.
Without looking at each other, you turned and walked toward Sehun.
As if nothing had happened.
As if you hadn’t just felt something shift between you.
But deep down, you knew.
Something had changed.
And there was no going back now.
________________
The car moved steadily through the darkened roads, its headlights slicing through the early morning mist. The air inside was thick with exhaustion, relief, and something unspoken—something neither of you dared to name.
Sehun glanced back from the passenger seat.
"Are you both alright?"
Minsoo, focused on the road, added, "Everyone was worried about you two." His voice was calm, but the lingering tension was evident.
Taehyung sat beside you in the backseat, his posture relaxed but his mind anything but. He had already made it clear—you weren’t to tell anyone what had happened tonight. His friends knew, and that was enough.
This wasn’t something he wanted you involved in.
A police case meant interrogation, stress, endless questions—he wouldn’t let you go through that. Not when he could handle it himself.
"Yeah, we're fine. Totally fine. Don't worry, guys," Taehyung assured them smoothly, though his voice carried a weight only a few could notice.
Sehun turned to you. "Don’t worry, Y/N. We’ll handle everything. The trekking and camping trip got canceled, so we’re heading to the beach and back to the resort instead."
Minsoo yawned. "You two should rest. You both look exhausted. It’s almost 4 AM—we’ll reach in an hour."
"I’ll wake you both when we get there, okay?" Sehun added.
Taehyung gave a brief nod before turning his attention elsewhere.
"By the way, where did you guys get this car?" he asked.
"Resort manager’s car," Sehun replied. "Your dad called him personally."
Taehyung stiffened. "What? Dad called him?" His voice was sharper than he intended.
"Shhh… lower your voice," Minsoo whispered, gesturing toward you.
Taehyung’s gaze shifted.
You had already drifted off, your body leaning slightly against the window. The dim glow from the dashboard lights illuminated your face, peaceful despite everything that had happened tonight.
His eyes softened.
Without thinking, he reached out, carefully moving your head from the hard window onto his shoulder.
Minsoo and Sehun exchanged knowing glances before grinning.
"Seems like someone’s getting extra caring," Sehun teased under his breath.
"And look at that jacket," Minsoo added. "She’s wearing his."
Sehun smirked. "I smell something fishy. Don’t you, Minsoo?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "You two are thinking too much."
"Or maybe you’re doing too much," Sehun shot back, both of them laughing silently.
Taehyung huffed. "Yeah, yeah, say whatever you want. I’m sleeping."
And with that, he closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the seat.
But sleep didn’t come easily.
Not when the warmth of your presence lingered against him, your steady breathing brushing against his shoulder.
Early Morning – Resort Arrival
The car slowed to a stop as the golden hues of dawn stretched across the sky.
Sehun stretched with a sigh. "Finally, we’re here."
Taehyung, still standing beside you, rolled his shoulders tiredly.
"Let’s get you to the medical room first," Sehun said, motioning for him to follow. "Then I’ll take you to your room."
Taehyung nodded before glancing at Minsoo. "Take Y/N to her room."
Your head lifted slightly at his words, eyes meeting his.
Even now… He was still thinking about you.
This person—Taehyung—was completely out of your syllabus. You had never been able to understand him, and tonight only made that more complicated.
Minsoo pulled out his phone. "Let me call Eunah. She’ll take you to your room, Y/N."
While you waited, Taehyung stole one last glance at you.
Then, from a distance, the sound of hurried footsteps.
"Y/N!"
Eunah.
She ran toward you, her expression a mix of relief and worry before she threw her arms around you.
"Thank God! Thank God! You’re alright. I was so scared when you didn’t come back." She pulled away, her eyes glassy with unshed tears. "I thought—" She shook her head. "Never mind. Let’s go. You need to rest."
You felt her hands on your shoulders, grounding you, but something made you hesitate.
You turned slightly.
Taehyung was looking at you.
And for a split second, everything stilled.
The exhaustion in his eyes, the silent reassurance in yours—nothing needed to be said.
He would be fine.
You would be fine.
Sehun’s voice broke the moment. "Come on, Taehyung."
And just like that, you turned away, parting in opposite directions.
But something lingered in the air between you—something unspoken, something unfinished.
And neither of you could shake it off.
Not yet.
Here's a refined version with deeper emotions and unsaid feelings woven in:
Time Skip
After reporting to your professors, you finally returned to your room. Your body ached with exhaustion, and all you wanted was to bury yourself in the comfort of your bed. You had already freshened up, so you wasted no time crawling under the covers, pressing your head into the pillow, ready to drift off.
But just as sleep was about to claim you, the door suddenly swung open with force, making both you and Eunah flinch. Your heart pounded as you looked up, only to find Stacey and her minions standing at the doorway, their expressions unreadable—except for the unmistakable sharpness in Stacey’s gaze.
She tilted her head, her voice laced with mockery.
Stacey: "Look who finally came back… Hah! I actually thanked God that Taehyung returned safely, but I was also praying I wouldn’t have to see your face again. Guess I wasn’t lucky enough."
Eunah’s eyes narrowed as she stepped forward in defense.
Eunah: "Yah, don’t start with your nonsense. Can’t you see she’s exhausted? She needs rest, not—"
Soohyun let out a dramatic gasp, cutting Eunah off.
Soohyun: "Oh, so she’s tired? That must mean last night was… rough, huh? Especially since she was alone with Taehyung?"
A smirk played on Lia's lips as she eyed you with feigned pity.
Lia: "I knew it! Look at her. She acts all innocent, but she’s not. She definitely seduced him last night!"
Your breath hitched. Did you just hear them right? Your stomach twisted as their words sank in.
Stacey: "So, did you have fun, Y/N?" she asked, her tone now dangerously laced with anger.
Eunah’s patience snapped.
Eunah: "Are you guys out of your mind?! Just get out of here!"
Soohyun scoffed, arms crossed.
Soohyun: "Eunah, lower your voice. This is my room too, remember? Stacey is my friend, and she has every right to be here."
Eunah clenched her fists, glaring.
Eunah: "Oh, right. How could I forget that we’re stuck sharing a room with ridiculous people like you two?"
Lia stepped forward aggressively, but before she could reach Eunah, you quickly positioned yourself between them.
Y/N: "Enough!" Your voice came out louder than expected, making them all pause. You locked eyes with Stacey. "What do you want from me?"
Stacey took a step closer, eyes burning into yours.
Stacey: "I want you to stay away from Taehyung. He’s mine. If I ever see you around him again… be prepared for the consequences."
She didn’t wait for a response before turning on her heels.
Stacey: "Let’s go, girls."
With that, she and her minions strutted out of the room.
The air felt suffocating in their absence. Eunah let out an exasperated sigh.
Eunah: "Ignore them, Y/N. They’re obsessed with Taehyung, and their jealousy is eating them alive. I know there’s nothing between you and him."
You remained silent. Nothing?
Eunah smiled, trying to lighten the mood.
Eunah: "Anyway, I’m heading to the canteen for some snacks. Want anything?"
You shook your head.
Eunah: "Okay, I’ll be back soon. Get some rest."
As she left, silence settled in the room.
But her words lingered. "There’s nothing between you and Taehyung."
You pressed your fingers against your temples as flashes of last night replayed in your mind—the way he held your hand, the way he shielded you, the soft way he spoke to you…
You scoffed at yourself.
Y/N: "It was just the situation. That’s all… There were no personal feelings involved. I don’t—"
You froze mid-sentence.
Your own thoughts betrayed you, making your heart race in a way you didn’t like. Why was this even on your mind?
Shaking your head, you forced yourself under the covers. You needed to sleep. That’s it.
But as soon as you closed your eyes, the memories of last night came rushing in—the fear, the helplessness, the lingering adrenaline. Your chest tightened. Sleep was impossible.
Your eyes drifted to your bag near the nightstand. Without thinking, you slipped out of bed and rummaged through it, finally pulling out a small bottle.
Y/N: "I think I need this right now."
You quickly swallowed the pill, chasing it with water.
These sedatives were meant for your claustrophobia, but whenever your mind became too restless, they were the only thing that helped. No one knew about them—not even your mom. You had lied, telling her you had overcome your fear, just so she wouldn’t waste money on treatment.
You rarely took them. You knew they had dangerous side effects. But tonight… you just needed sleep.
And within minutes, sleep took you.
_____Evening____
A voice pulled you out of your deep slumber.
Eunah: "Y/N… Y/N! Wake up, it’s evening already!"
You groaned as your eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dim lighting of the room.
Y/N: "Hahhh… what time is it?"
Eunah: "6 PM. Now, get up. We’re going to the beach!" she said, practically bouncing with excitement.
You buried your face back into the pillow.
Y/N: "Can I sleep a little more…?"
Eunah: "No way! You already slept for ten hours! Now, come on!"
She yanked your hand, making you sit up.
Y/N: "Fine, fine… Just don’t pull my arm out of its socket."
She chuckled in triumph.
You freshened up and dressed in a simple white top and black jeans. Tying your hair into a small bun, you quickly applied some moisturizer before turning to Eunah.
Y/N: "Okay, I’m ready. Let’s go."
Eunah blinked at you in disbelief.
Eunah: "Wait, what? That’s it?"
Y/N: "Yeah? What else do you expect?"
Eunah sighed dramatically.
Eunah: "We’re going to the beach, not attending a class! Where’s the effort?"
You gave her a deadpan look.
Y/N: "You know I don’t like dressing up like other girls. Simple is best for me. Please don’t make a big deal out of it."
Eunah pouted but then smirked mischievously.
Eunah: "Fine. But let me do one thing."
Before you could protest, she reached forward and pulled the clip from your bun, letting your hair cascade down your back.
Eunah: "Much better."
You blinked.
Y/N: "Hey—"
But she wasn’t done. Pulling out a light red lipstick from her pocket, she gently applied it to your lips.
Your eyes widened.
Y/N: "Yah! You said just one thing!"
Before you could wipe it off, she grabbed your hand.
Eunah: "No, don’t! It suits you! Look in the mirror."
Reluctantly, you turned to the mirror. And to your surprise… she was right.
The color wasn’t too bold, just enough to enhance your features. You looked… different. Soft yet striking.
Still, you felt slightly awkward.
Y/N: "I’ve never worn lipstick before… just lip balm."
Eunah: "Well, now you have. And you look stunning." She grabbed your hand with a grin. "Now, let’s go before the sun sets!"
You let her drag you out of the room, a small, amused smile playing on your lips.
Little did you know, someone would soon see you in a way they never had before.
And everything would start to change.
____At the Beach___
Eunah: "See, Y/N! This is the nightlife of the beach. Beautiful, right?" (She asked cheerfully, and you nodded.)
Your eyes sparkled at the sight of the glowing decorations and the lively crowd enjoying the night. Suddenly, you spotted Professor Lee approaching. Both of you bowed slightly.
Professor Lee: "Are you feeling better now, Y/N?" (He asked with concern.)
Y/N: "Yes, Professor."
Professor Lee: "That's a relief. Are you both heading to the beach?"
Eunah: "Yes, Professor."
Professor Lee: "Alright, go ahead. This is the resort's beach club—I’ll be here. If anyone looks for me, let them know. And Eunah, don’t leave Y/N alone, okay? And let them know, one more thing no drinking and no hook-ups."
Eunah: "Got it, Professor!" (You both bowed slightly before walking ahead.)
Eunah: "Come on, let's find the others!" (She said, leading you toward the main beach.)
_______________
Eunah: "Yah, look! They’re over there!" (She pointed excitedly at a large circle of students.)
Most were gathered in the lively group, while a few wandered along the shore or rested on the sand.
Eunah: "Come on, let’s join them!" (She grabbed your hand and pulled you toward the crowd.)
As you got closer, your eyes instinctively found Taehyung. He was already looking at you, his gaze locked on you as if time had paused.
Taehyung (muttering to himself): "She’s beautiful…"
You noticed Stacey sitting beside him, her sharp eyes glaring at you. A strange uneasiness settled in your chest. It wasn’t like you couldn’t see them together, yet something about it made your stomach twist uncomfortably. You quickly looked away, avoiding Taehyung’s intense gaze.
Eunah: "Can we join?" (She asked before you could protest. Her swimmer friends had already made space.)
With a bright smile, she pulled you down next to her—right across from Taehyung.
Eunah: "So, what are you guys playing?"
Minsoo: "Situation or Dare."
Eunah: "What happened to Truth?"
Minsoo: "We made it optional. Thought we’d spice things up!"
Eunah: "Interesting. How does it work?"
Joel: "We count to 21, but you can skip up to two numbers in sequence. Whoever lands on 21 has to do a dare or a situation. If they refuse, they drink a giant bowl of mixed wine."
Eunah: "Sounds fun! Let’s start!"
The game kicked off with cheers. Joel was the first to hit 21.
Joel: "Ah, come on! Why me? Fine, give me my dare."
Minsoo smirked. "Pole dance… using a stranger as your pole."
Laughter erupted as Joel groaned in betrayal.
Joel: "Yah! I thought you were my friend!"
Eunah: "No excuses, do your dare!"
With exaggerated reluctance, Joel performed his dare, making everyone burst into laughter. Taehyung, however, remained silent, his eyes fixated on you the whole time.
One by one, the game continued until the number 21 landed on Taehyung. Your heart skipped a beat as you finally dared to look at him. He was already looking at you.
Joel: "I’ll give him the dare!"
Minsoo: "Go ahead!"
Joel smirked. "Taehyung, your dare is to kiss a girl you like from this circle. And it has to be a French kiss."
A wave of excitement spread through the group.
Stacey (grinning): "I think I’m ready."
The group hyped up the moment, eagerly anticipating what was to come. You, on the other hand, felt a strange knot tightening in your stomach.
You shouldn’t care. You shouldn’t feel this way. But why did the thought of them kissing make you feel uneasy?
Eunah noticed your discomfort.
Eunah: "Y/N, you okay?"
Y/N: "Uh… I just need some fresh air." (You pointed toward a small bonfire nearby.) "I’ll be there."
Eunah nodded, signaling Minsoo to let you go without penalty. As you stood up, Taehyung’s gaze followed you. Your eyes met for a brief second before you quickly turned away, walking toward the bonfire.
Everyone was too busy hyping Taehyung and Stacey to notice.
Taehyung, however, wanted to stop you. But he didn’t.
Joel: "Aish… that’s not the reaction I was expecting."
_______Near the bonfire_____
You sat near the bonfire, the warmth offering little comfort against the turmoil in your heart.
Y/N (muttering to yourself): "They’ve probably kissed by now… Ugh, why am I even thinking about it? Just forget it, Y/N. Forget it."
???: "Forget about what?"
Startled, you looked up.
Y/N: "Jimin…?"
Jimin sighed in relief. "Finally found you. Did you sleep well? I came to check on you this morning, but Eunah said you were still sleeping." (He sat beside you.)
Y/N: "I’m sorry, I—"
Jimin: "Do you think an apology will fix everything?"
You blinked in confusion. "Huh?"
Jimin's voice softened. "We were all so worried about you and Taehyung. Why did you two even go on that bike? What if something had happened? You should’ve said no to him. I was terrified because I know how reckless he could be! And last night, how did he manage with those sounds of thunder—"
Y/N (interrupting, eyes widening): "Wait… how do you know about his fear of thunder?"
Jimin froze for a moment.
Y/N: "This is the first time I’ve seen you genuinely concerned about him. You care about him, don’t you? Then why do you two always fight?"
Jimin exhaled heavily.
Jimin: "Because… we used to be best friends."
Y/N: "What?! You and Taehyung… best friends?" (You stared at him in disbelief.)
Jimin nodded slightly.
Y/N: "I can’t believe it. What happened? Why do you guys act like enemies now?"
Jimin forced a smile. "Not the right time to talk about it, Y/N. Just enjoy yourself, okay? No stress." (He reached over and playfully pinched your nose.)
Y/N: "Yah!" (You rubbed your nose, making him chuckle.)
Y/N: "Fine. But promise me you’ll tell me later."
Jimin smirked. "Why are you so curious?"
You smiled slightly.
Y/N: "I just… want to know."
Jimin: "Don’t tell me you have a crush on me too?" (He teased, chuckling.)
Y/N: "Yah, you—!" (You lightly punched his shoulder as he laughed.)
Jimin: "Okay, okay. But for real, you look beautiful tonight." (He said it so genuinely that your breath hitched.)
You bit your inner lip, a slight blush creeping onto your cheeks.
Y/N: "Don’t joke."
Jimin: "I’m not."
Y/N: "Fine… I believe you." (You giggled, making him smile.)
Neither of you noticed Taehyung watching from a distance. His fists clenched slightly as he saw the way you laughed with Jimin, the way you blushed at his words. Jealousy simmered beneath his calm exterior.
Y/N: "I’m getting some water. Be right back." (You stood up.)
Jimin: "Want me to come with you?"
Y/N: "No, it’s fine. Just make sure those sweet potatoes don’t burn." (You pointed at the small basket beside him.)
Jimin: "Alright, but come back soon."
You nodded and headed toward the beach club, unaware of the pair of eyes following your every move.
_____________
The gentle hum of the ocean surrounded you as you spotted Sehun sitting alone, away from the crowd. The place was peaceful, a stark contrast to the lively chatter echoing from a distance. He seemed lost in thought, his fingers absentmindedly brushing against the strings of a guitar. A small frown creased his forehead.
Something about his solitude tugged at your heart. Without thinking much, you walked toward him.
Y/N: "Sehun...?"
He didn’t respond immediately. His eyes were fixed on the horizon, lost in a world only he knew. But as your voice reached him, he blinked and turned to you, his expression softening.
Sehun: "Oh, Y/N… When did you come? Ahh… Come, sit here."
He gestured beside him, and you took the seat he offered, the cool evening breeze gently brushing past you.
Sehun: "So, are you fine now?"
Y/N: "Yeah… I’m okay now. By the way, where did you get this guitar?" (You asked as your eyes landed on the instrument in his hands.)
Sehun: "Oh, this? I just borrowed it from the club. Thought I’d try it out here… Do you want to play?"
You hesitated before shaking your head with a small smile.
Y/N: "Uhmm… No, it’s fine, totally!"
Sehun chuckled at your response, mirroring your smile before his expression turned serious. He hesitated for a moment before speaking again, as if weighing his words carefully.
Sehun: "Y/N… can you please forgive Taehyung for what happened yesterday?"
Your smile faltered slightly at the unexpected mention of his name.
Sehun: "Actually, we told him to take the bus, but he refused. He said you feel uneasy in small, congested spaces… so we all decided to go by bike instead. He didn’t want to inconvenience us, but we’re his friends. We couldn’t leave him alone."
Your breath hitched.
Y/N: "Wait… what? You mean… he chose to go by bike because of me…?"
Your mind reeled back to the time you had told Taehyung about your claustrophobia. He had remembered.
Sehun: "I don’t know what you think about him, but he’s not how he appears to be. I hope you’ll forgive him… and please, don’t tell him I told you. He didn’t want you to know… but I just didn’t want you to misunderstand him."
You fell silent, emotions swirling inside you. Guilt crept in, making your heart feel heavy. You had said so many unnecessary things to him…
Sehun sighed before his phone suddenly rang, breaking the moment.
Sehun: "Yeah, Minsoo? What happened? Oh… okay, I’m coming." (He hung up.)
Y/N: "Is everything alright?"
Sehun: "Yeah… they’re just calling me over. Come, let’s go?"
Your mind drifted back to the scene from earlier—the sight of Taehyung and Stacey almost kissing. A pang of something unexplainable twisted inside you. You weren’t ready to face that again.
Y/N: "It’s fine. You go. I’ll stay here for a while… The air feels so good here." (You forced a small smile.)
Sehun studied you for a moment before nodding.
Sehun: "Okay… but are you sure you don’t want to try the guitar?"
You hesitated before sighing.
Y/N: "Fine… Give it to me. Let’s find out just how horrible I am at this!"
Sehun laughed as he carefully helped you wear the guitar strap over one shoulder.
Sehun: "Alright then, I’m going!"
You nodded as he walked away, leaving you alone with the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore.
You plucked a string experimentally, the sound vibrating in the quiet air. A soft smile tugged at your lips. But your thoughts soon drifted back to Taehyung.
"Why did he do that? Did he… empathize with me?"
You sighed, stepping closer to the water, letting the cold waves kiss your feet. The wind played with your hair, and you closed your eyes, allowing the moment to soothe you.
Just then, warmth enveloped your hand.
A larger palm covered yours on the guitar. A familiar scent lingered in the air—woodsy, masculine, and faintly intoxicating. A chin rested near your right shoulder, breath fanning against your skin.
Your eyes snapped open.
He was right there.
Taehyung.
So close that you could see the golden flecks in his dark brown eyes.
Y/N: "Taehyung…?"
Taehyung: "Were you trying to play? Let me help you."
His voice was deep, smooth, almost hypnotic. His fingers gently guided yours, pressing them against the right strings. You felt his toned chest against your back, sending a shiver down your spine.
But you snapped back to reality.
You quickly moved the guitar to your back, stepping away from him, creating space between you.
Y/N: "What are you doing here? You should be with your friends."
Taehyung’s eyes darkened slightly.
Taehyung: "Why? Why can’t I be here? And why did you run away from the game?"
His voice held something… frustration? Hurt?
Your breath caught in your throat.
Y/N: "I felt uncomfortable… seeing you and Stacey about to—"
You stopped mid-sentence, looking away.
Taehyung: "So you were affected by it?" (He took a step closer.)
Your heart pounded.
Y/N: "Huh…? No! Why would I be? You can kiss anyone! I don’t have a problem with it. I just didn’t want to be there to see it!"
Taehyung’s gaze deepened.
Taehyung: "So you wouldn’t care if I kissed someone else?"
You exhaled sharply, standing your ground.
Y/N: "That’s what I said."
Taehyung: "Then… don’t you want to know if I kissed her or not?" (He took another step.)
You looked up at him, but his expression was unreadable. The space between you had become almost nonexistent.
Your voice wavered slightly.
Y/N: "No… I don’t want to know."
Taehyung: "But you should."
His voice was lower now, sending shivers down your spine. That’s when you noticed… the faint scent of alcohol on his breath.
Y/N: "Taehyung… are you drunk?"
He pouted slightly, nodding.
Y/N: "Aishh! Why did you drink? Let’s go. I’ll call someone—"
You reached for your phone, but he grabbed your wrist gently, stopping you.
Taehyung: "It was the punishment for the game."
Your eyes widened.
Y/N: "Wait… punishment? That means… you drank that whole bowl of mixed wine? So you didn’t—"
Taehyung: "Yeah. I didn’t kiss Stacey."
Something inside you loosened—like an invisible weight lifting off your chest. Relief.
But then…
Y/N: "Why?"
Taehyung exhaled, his gaze burning into yours.
Taehyung: "Do I really need to explain why?"
Your breath hitched as he cupped your face, his touch featherlight yet firm. His eyes locked onto yours, pulling you in like gravity.
Your pulse raced.
Taehyung: "The person I wanted to kiss… wasn’t there."
A moment of silence. Then, his voice dropped into a whisper.
Taehyung: "Cause She ran away."
