Stacey: "T... Taehyung...?"

There he was, standing with his friends, his cold, sharp gaze locked onto her. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes burned with something dangerous-anger.

Taehyung: "What do you think of yourself, Stacey? Just because you're the Dean's daughter, you believe you can do anything?" His voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable warning in it. "Let me make something clear. This university doesn't run on your father's name alone. The trustees hold the power, and in case you forgot, my father is one of them. He's one of the biggest donors here. So if you think you're untouchable, think again."

His words sent a chill down Stacey's spine.

Taehyung: "Stay in your limits. And don't you dare harm Y/N again, or you'll regret it."

Stacey swallowed hard, but then, gathering her courage, she spoke. "But Taehyung... I did all this because of you!"

At that very moment, you were stepping out of the campus building with Eunah when you heard her words. You stopped in your tracks, your heart pounding as you turned toward the scene.

Did she just say... because of him?

Your breath hitched. Your mind instantly connected the dots-Taehyung had always made your life difficult, always been the one to trouble you. Was this just another one of his games? Did he tell Stacey to do this to you?

Anger bubbled inside you, your fists clenching as you tried to keep your emotions in check. Eunah stood beside you, equally shocked.

Stacey: "She's been getting in your way everywhere. How could you expect me to just ignore that?"

Taehyung's jaw tensed, his patience wearing thin. "Are you-"

Before he could say another word, your voice cut through the air.

Y/N: "I'm sorry for troubling you everywhere, Taehyung."

Silence.

Everyone turned to look at you.

Taehyung's breath hitched as he saw the look in your eyes-hurt, betrayal, and something deeper... something that made his chest tighten.

Y/N: "It's all my fault. Even what Stacey did to me... it was right, wasn't it? I deserved it."

Your voice dripped with anger, but underneath it, there was pain.

Y/N: "Thank you for making me understand my limits."

Without another word, you turned and walked away, your steps quick, determined. Eunah followed behind, sending one last glare toward Taehyung before disappearing from his sight.

Taehyung stood there, frozen.

For the first time in a long time, he felt something foreign crawl into his chest-guilt.

Why does it feel like he just lost something?

He wanted to stop you. He wanted to explain.

But why?

Why did he suddenly feel this desperate need for you to not misunderstand him? Why did it hurt to see you walk away like that?

His fingers curled into fists as frustration burned inside him.

Why was this affecting him so much?

With a clenched jaw, he turned on his heel and walked toward his car, but even as he did, his mind was filled with only one thought-

You.

___Next night___

You had taken the day off from work, your body drained from exhaustion. Even now, at almost 10 PM, you were still buried in your assignment-one that needed to be submitted tomorrow in Mrs. Kang's class.

The entire day had been spent hunched over your desk, flipping through pages, typing endlessly. Your fingers ached, your mind was sluggish, and fatigue pressed down on you like a heavy blanket.

Letting out a tired sigh, you stretched your arms, rolling your stiff shoulders. Your gaze shifted toward your phone lying beside your books, its screen dark and silent.

Reaching for it, you checked your notifications. Nothing.

No messages. No calls. Not a single word from Taehyung.

Your stomach twisted slightly. After everything that had happened yesterday... how could he not even reach out?

Your thoughts swirled back to Stacey's words, her cruel smirk flashing in your mind.

"I did all this because of you, Taehyung!"

Your fingers tightened around the phone.

"He wasn't satisfied with troubling me himself, so he dragged Stacey into it too...?"

A bitter chuckle left your lips.

Y/N: "If he really wanted to see me drown, then why did he save me? What's going on in his head?"

The unanswered questions gnawed at you, frustration building in your chest.

Just as you were lost in thought, a sudden noise snapped you out of it.

Tap... tap... creak...

Your head whipped toward the open window, where the cold night breeze was pushing against the frame, causing it to rattle.

A chill ran down your spine.

Shaking off the unease, you stood up and walked toward it, your fingers reaching for the window latch. But just as you were about to secure it-

A shadow moved.

You took cautious steps toward it, your pulse quickening. Just as you reached out to fix it-

A shadow moved.

Your heart dropped.

A scream almost tore from your throat, but before you could react, a hand covered your mouth, muffling your voice. Your body jerked in panic, but the moment your eyes adjusted-

Taehyung.

Your wide eyes locked onto his dark ones, burning with unreadable emotions.

He climbed in swiftly, his strong hand clamped over your mouth. silently telling you to keep quiet. Your body tensed, the proximity making your breath hitch. Panic and anger mixed inside you like a violent storm.

You struggled against him, pushing him away, but as you stepped back, your foot hit the edge of your bed-

And before you knew it, you both crashed down onto the mattress.

Before you could process what was happening, you lost your balance-pulling Taehyung down with you.

The world tilted, and within seconds, you found yourself pinned beneath him.

Your breath caught in your throat.

Taehyung hovered over you, his body pressed dangerously close, his deep brown eyes staring straight into yours.

The room felt impossibly quiet, the only sound being your own erratic heartbeat drumming in your ears.

For a moment, everything stilled.

His gaze... it was unreadable. Not the usual arrogance, nor amusement. Instead, there was something else-something intense.

You could feel the warmth of his breath against your skin, the way his weight caged you in, making it impossible to move.

Your eyes darted to his lips-soft, parted slightly as if he had something to say but couldn't.

He was staring too. At you.

Your heartbeat drummed in your ears as Taehyung's gaze flickered down to your lips, then back to your eyes, his expression unreadable.

Why was he looking at you like that?

Why was your body betraying you with this warmth spreading in your chest?

The air between you grew thick, almost suffocating. You weren't sure who was lost in whose gaze, but before you could stop yourself, your lips moved.

Y/N: "Why are you here... at this hour?"

Your voice came out softer than intended, barely above a whisper.

Something shifted in Taehyung's expression. His eyes darkened, flickering down to your lips for a fleeting second before locking back onto your own.

The intensity in his gaze made your stomach tighten.

Then, without a word, he started leaning closer.

Your breath hitched, your body frozen as his face inched nearer.

Closer.

Closer.

The heat of his breath fanned against your cheek, then your ear-sending shivers down your spine.

Your fingers curled into the bedsheet beneath you as your eyes shut tightly, heart pounding in anticipation.

And then, in a voice so low, so husky, it sent goosebumps across your skin, he whispered-

"Taehyung: Don't you already know?"

His husky voice was low, laced with something almost dangerous.

His lips barely grazed your earlobe, making your fingers clench the bedsheets beneath you.

A strange, tingling sensation rushed through your body, but the moment you registered what was happening, you shoved him away-hard.

Taehyung let out a surprised groan as he fell onto the bed beside you.

You quickly sat up, your heart still racing. It's before you stood up. He held your wrist making you looked at him.

"Y/n: Leave my hand!" you snapped, yanking your wrist away as he smirked at your reaction.

You stood up, putting distance between you both.

"Y/n: Taehyung, I don't know how you found my place, but you need to leave."

He tilted his head, watching you like a predator watching its prey.

"Taehyung: So rude," he mused. "I thought you might feel lonely staying here all by yourself, so I came to keep you company. And your bed-damn, it's so comfortable. I think I'll stay here tonight."

Your jaw clenched.

You shot him a glare as he casually threw himself onto your bed again, making himself comfortable like he owned the place.

You internally screamed.

"Y/n: You can't stay here! What if someone sees you? You'll get me kicked out! I don't need your company I'm happy here alone" You groaned in frustration.

Taehyung propped himself up on one elbow, his smirk never fading.

"Taegyung: So?" he drawled. "I like ruining your peace, remember?"

Your eyes flashed with anger.

"Y/n: Yesterday wasn't enough for you?" you seethed. "Using Stacey against me-was that fun for you? Huh? You still want to play more games?"

His smirk faltered.

"Taehyung: Do you really think like that?" His voice dropped, and for a fleeting second, something unreadable flickered in his eyes.

You swallowed. His sudden change in tone made you hesitate.

He let out a cold chuckle.

"Taehyung: Well, if that's what you believe, then fine. I don't care," he said, his voice void of emotion. "You're just a servant to me. Nothing more."

Your chest tightened.

"Y/n: I know you hate me," you finally said, voice steadier than you felt."Why did you save me yesterday then?"

"Taehyung: I saved you yesterday only because I want to see you suffer more."

His words hit like a slap.

Your throat burned as you forced yourself to keep looking at him, refusing to let him see how much it hurt.

" Y/n: I don't care. But just tell me-why are you really here?"

Taehyung hesitated.

He couldn't tell you that ever since yesterday, you hadn't left his mind. That he had fought with himself all day, wanting to call you but not knowing what to say. That standing in your room right now, watching you glare at him with fire in your eyes, made his chest tighten in a way he didn't understand.

So instead, he pulled out a stack of papers from his hoodie and dropped them in front of you.

"Taehyung: My assignment. Finish it."

Your eyes widened.

"Y/n: What?!"

He grinned. "You don't have a choice."

"Y/n: Why didn't you come earlier?! It's almost 11 PM!"

"Taehyung: Don't forget our contract," he said smugly. "And besides, we have the whole night."

You groaned, snatching the papers from his hands. "Y/n: God, help me!"

"Taehyung: God won't help you," he smirked. "Now get to work. I'll keep looking at you so I don't doze off while working on my assignment."

With an annoyed sigh, you sat at your desk and shoved your earphones in, ignoring him.

- ✦ -

Almost 5 hours later

You yawned, stretching your sore arms. The clock read 3:51 AM. You had finally finished.

Turning around, you found Taehyung fast asleep, hugging a pillow.

A soft chuckle escaped your lips.

"Y/n: And he had the audacity to say I'd fall asleep ."

You walked up to him, your gaze lingering on his peaceful face.

Gone was the arrogant, cold-hearted man. In sleep, he looked... almost innocent.

"Y/n: Should I take a picture?" you murmured, smirking. "Yeah, I should."

You quickly snapped a photo, giggling to yourself.

Shaking your head, you gently draped a blanket over him.

"Y/n: Goodnight, Kim Monster Taehyung."

With no other option, you made your bed on the floor and curled up, quickly drifting into sleep.

- ✦ -

Taehyung's eyelids fluttered as the golden morning light seeped into the room, brushing against his skin. His brows furrowed slightly, his mind still caught between the haze of sleep and reality. As his vision adjusted, he blinked in mild confusion, realizing he wasn't in his own bed. Then, the memories of last night rushed back-your stubborn defiance, your exasperated sighs, the way you fought against him yet still completed his assignment. A smirk ghosted his lips at the thought.

Turning his head, he noticed the neatly stacked assignment beside him, untouched by the morning's chaos. His fingers ran over the papers absentmindedly before his gaze wandered in search of you. But you weren't at your desk. His eyes scanned the room until they finally landed on you-curled up on the cold floor, your arms hugging yourself for warmth.

Something inside him stirred.

His expression softened as he tilted his head, taking in the sight of you sleeping so peacefully, yet so vulnerably. A genuine, almost rare smile tugged at the corners of his lips. You looked different when you weren't throwing sharp words at him-delicate, quiet, almost like a secret meant to be kept safe.

Slowly, he got down from the bed, moving closer to you with careful steps, as if afraid to wake you. But as he knelt beside you, his eyes caught something that made his breath hitch. The hem of your top had shifted slightly, revealing a sliver of bare skin.

His throat went dry.

Taehyung clenched his jaw, forcing himself to look away, his heartbeat strangely unsteady. He shut his eyes for a second, exhaling a deep sigh, before reaching out for the blanket. With careful hands, he draped it over you, letting it shield you from the cold. His fingers lingered for a second near your shoulder, his usual arrogance faltering for once.

Why did he feel this way?

Shaking off the unfamiliar feeling, he grabbed his assignment and stood up, his gaze lingering on you one last time before he silently made his way toward the door.

A gentle warmth surrounded you as your eyes fluttered open. Your brows furrowed as you sat up slowly, glancing down at yourself. A blanket?

Your head snapped toward the bed, but it was empty.

He left.

A strange hollowness settled in your chest, but you quickly shook it off, stretching your arms with a lazy yawn. "So, he's gone, huh..." you murmured, rubbing your sleepy eyes.

Just then, your phone buzzed. Picking it up, you saw a message pop up on the screen.

Jisung(text): Are you free after lunch?

You glanced at the time, then at your class schedule. You had some free hours. With a small sigh, you replied:

Y/N(text): Yeah, I can make it.

As you placed your phone aside, your gaze flickered to the blanket around you once more. A weird feeling settled in your stomach, one you couldn't quite name.

You shook your head, muttering to yourself, "I should get ready before I overthink this."

With that, you got up and made your way toward the bathroom, pushing aside whatever strange emotions Taehyung had unknowingly left behind.

__In the university __

Minsoo adjusted his bag and glanced at his friends, already looking guilty for ditching them. "Guys, I have my practice session, so I can't join you... okay, bye!" he said quickly before sprinting away.

Joel groaned, throwing his hands in the air. "Yah! Minsoo! Listen to us-ugh, this boy!"

Sehun sighed, shaking his head. "Let him go. He's the best on his team. He has to attend his practice sessions."

Joel scoffed. "That's exactly why I wanted to stop him. He's already the best-why does he need to practice even more? What do you think, Taehyung?" He turned to Taehyung, expecting a snarky remark.

But Taehyung didn't respond.

From the moment he woke up, something had changed. He was too quiet, too lost in his thoughts, and even-smiling? It was unusual. He didn't even react to Joel's words.

Joel and Sehun exchanged looks before whispering.

"What's up with him?" Joel mumbled.

Sehun frowned. "I don't know. He even skipped lunch today. And you know he only does that when something's messing with his mind."

Joel narrowed his eyes at Taehyung. "But he doesn't look angry... he looks... calm. Too calm."

"Wait," he muttered before grabbing Taehyung's shoulder and shaking him. "Taehyung!"

Taehyung blinked rapidly, snapping out of his daze. "Huh? Yeah? What happened?"

Sehun crossed his arms. "You okay?"

"Me?" Taehyung scoffed slightly. "Yeah. I'm fine. What's wrong with you guys?" He kept his face neutral, not letting them in on his inner chaos.

But then-

A sound.

A voice.

A laugh.

His muscles tensed, his head whipping toward the direction of the sound. The familiar giggle made his heart lurch-he knew that voice. His eyes locked onto the radio station room.

It was you.

Without thinking, he walked toward the door, his friends following in confusion. As he reached the slightly open door, he peeked inside-

And froze.

There you were.

Giggling. Laughing so hard you clutched your stomach. And beside you-Jisung.

At the radio station-

You wiped the corner of your eye, still laughing. "Jisung, you're seriously the funniest. I haven't laughed like this in ages-ahh, my stomach hurts!"

Jisung leaned back in his chair, grinning. "You have no idea how much I got scolded when they found out about that prank. I was this close to being suspended!"

You smirked. "Well, you deserved it!"

Taehyung clenched his jaw. His hands curled into fists as he stared at the two of you. The way Jisung looked at you-admiring, adoring-it made Taehyung's blood boil.

"What the hell... why is he looking at her like that?" he internally growled.

Jisung chuckled. "Yeah, I realized it later, but it was fun, right?"

"Yeah, yeah," you said, still giggling. "Now let's finish this and announce it!"

Jisung clapped his hands. "I think it's ready. Let's announce the winter tour! The students must be waiting."

You nodded. "Okay! But after this, I have to submit my assignment in my next class."

As you stood up, Jisung suddenly asked, "You're coming for the winter tour, right?"

You hesitated. "Uh... actually, no. I have other things to do."

Jisung pouted. "Why, Y/N? Your class is coming too! It's just a three-day trip! We'll visit the countryside and the beach. It'll be so much fun if you come!"

You sighed, "I don't think I can make it... but have fun!" You smiled before walking toward the door.

But by then-

Taehyung was already gone.

At the Hallway-

Sehun stretched his arms. "Finally, the winter tour! We can relax before the exams!"

Joel groaned. "Ugh... but what about the assignment? I totally forgot. Damn it-wait, Taehyung, you forgot too, right?"

But then-

Taehyung pulled out his assignment from his bag.

Joel and Sehun's jaws dropped.

"Look at that, Joel," Sehun said, nudging him. "Taehyung finished his assignment. Unlike you."

But Taehyung wasn't even paying attention to them anymore.

His eyes had found you again.

You were walking toward your class, oblivious to the storm brewing inside him.

"Y/N."

His voice cut through the air, making you stop in your tracks.

You turned, eyes widening as he stalked toward you. His friends followed, sensing something was off.

And then-he stood right in front of you, blocking your way. His expression? Pure anger.

Taehyung scoffed, waving his assignment mockingly. "You guys do know that I have servants to do all this stuff for me, right?" He tilted his head before looking straight at you. "Y/N did it."

Joel gasped dramatically. "Lucky you!"

Taehyung didn't break eye contact. "Yeah. Lucky me." His voice was calm, but his gaze burned into yours.

You gulped. "W-What do you want now?"

Taehyung smirked. "Hmm... wait, let me show you."

And then-

RIIIP.

Your breath hitched as the sound echoed in the hallway.

Your eyes widened in pure horror as he tore the assignment in half.

Right in front of you.

Then-another rip. And another. Until nothing was left but shredded pieces falling to the floor like snowflakes.

Silence.

Pure, stunned silence.

Joel and Sehun gawked at him like he'd lost his mind.

Your hands trembled. "Are you insane?!" Your voice cracked with disbelief. "Why did you-?"

Taehyung shushed you, leaning in slightly. "Calm down, Y/N." His voice was almost teasing. "I just didn't like this assignment. And if I don't like it, how will Mrs. Kang like it?" He crossed his arms. "Now... I don't know how you're going to fix it, but I expect a new assignment before class."

You clenched your fists. "This is ridiculous!"

Taehyung smirked. "Maybe for you. But not for me." Then his eyes darkened. "And if I don't get my assignment on time, then Eunah won't be able to participate in her competition. I'm sure you understand what that means."

Your stomach dropped.

That was low. Even for him.

Your lips parted, but nothing came out.

Taehyung tilted his head, watching your silent despair, before turning on his heel and walking away, his friends following in stunned silence.

And you?

Your vision blurred with tears.

You crouched down, gathering the torn pieces, your fingers trembling as silent sobs wracked your body.

Your breath hitched as you whispered, "He's a devil... He's not human... He's a monster..."

Tears slipped down your cheeks as your voice trembled in hatred.

"I hate you, Kim Taehyung. I hate you."

__in the Classroom__

Sehun: "Why did you do it, Taehyung?! Why did you ruin your assignment?!" (He asked, his voice laced with frustration and disbelief.)

Joel: "Yeah, exactly! If you didn't need it, you could've just given it to me! At least I wouldn't have to face Mrs. Kang's wrath!" (He huffed in frustration.)

Taehyung: "It's not a big deal, Joel. Relax. She'll probably give you more time." (He shrugged nonchalantly, as if none of this mattered.)

Sehun's eyes darkened as he clenched his fists. He wasn't just upset-he was angry.

Sehun: "And what about Y/N, huh?! What you said to her earlier-how do you expect her to fix this? Do you even realize what you've done?!" (His voice rose, his tone sharp with disappointment.) "Don't you think you're taking things too far now?!"

Taehyung: (His jaw tightened as he spat out coldly,) "She deserves it."

Sehun's eyes widened in disbelief.

Sehun: "Deserves it?! What the hell are you even saying, Taehyung?! All she did was break your guitar-a guitar that you can easily replace! You act like she destroyed your entire life! What's the real reason behind this?!"

Taehyung's fingers twitched. He hated being questioned, but more than that, he hated that Sehun was right.

Taehyung: (Annoyed) "Why are you asking so many damn questions? And why are you both taking her side?! I thought you were my friends!"

Sehun: (Taking a deep breath, trying to suppress his anger) "Because, Taehyung, I think you've misunderstood her. She's not like the others. She's... a good person. And you're treating her like trash. One day, I hope you realize that."

Taehyung rolled his eyes, but his gaze flickered toward the classroom entrance. The moment he saw you walk in, his expression hardened. You hesitated, your eyes scanning the room before landing on him.

Your lips parted slightly, but the second your eyes met his, you quickly looked away and made your way to your seat.

For the first time, Taehyung noticed something different. Your eyes-they looked dull, tired... and worst of all, hurt.

His fingers curled into a fist. Why did that bother him?

You sat down quietly, placing your bag beside you. Your friend, Eunah, wasn't attending class today, but she had already submitted her assignment. Unlike you. Unlike the girl who now had to suffer because of him.

A voice suddenly broke the silence.

Jimin: "Hey, Y/N!" (He waved with a warm smile as he walked toward you.)

Taehyung's eyes immediately darted to the empty seat beside you. Jimin was heading straight for it.

Before he even realized what he was doing, Taehyung grabbed his bag and slammed it onto the chair, blocking Jimin from sitting down.

Everyone, including you, looked at him in shock.

Jimin sighed but didn't react. He simply turned toward you.

Jimin: "Did you finish your assignment, Y/N?"

Y/N: (Nodding, pulling out the assignment) "Yeah."

Jimin smiled as he took the paper from your hands.

Jimin: (Scanning through it) "I knew it. Can I take a look?"

You nodded, letting him flip through the pages.

Jimin's eyes widened slightly as he read through your work.

Jimin: (Impressed) "Wow, Y/N... this is amazing. I think you'll get full marks. You covered everything so clearly. Honestly, I doubt anyone in the class did it better than you. Well done." (He patted your shoulder in admiration.)

You smiled softly at his words. It was a small smile, but Taehyung saw it. And for some reason, it pissed him off.

His jaw clenched as he glared at Jimin.

Taehyung: "Are you done now?" (He snapped, voice dripping with irritation.)

Jimin ignored him.

Jimin: (Turning back to you) "You should sit next to me instead, Y/N. I don't think you should stay here." (His voice was casual, but the underlying message was clear-stay away from Taehyung.)

You hesitated, about to answer-

But Taehyung didn't let you.

Taehyung: (Firmly) "She doesn't want to sit there."

Your head snapped toward him in shock.

Jimin: (Scoffing) "And who the hell asked you? Why do you always assume you know what's best?"

Taehyung's eyes darkened.

Taehyung: "Do you wanna fight-"

Mrs. Kang: "Good afternoon, class!" (Her voice cut through the tension like a knife.)

Jimin rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath before walking away to his seat. You let out a quiet sigh, shooting a glare at Taehyung before turning your attention to the teacher.

Mrs. Kang: "Everyone ready with their assignments?"

The class responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!"

At that moment, Taehyung leaned closer to you, whispering,

Taehyung: "What are you going to do about my assignment?"

Your breath hitched. You gripped your own assignment tightly, your mind spinning.

Mrs. Kang: "I will call your names one by one. When I do, bring your assignment to my table."

You swallowed hard.

Mrs. Kang: "Min Y/N!"

You didn't move.

Taehyung glanced at you and frowned. You were completely frozen. Without thinking, he reached out and shook you lightly.

Taehyung: "Yahh servant. Mrs. Kang calling your name."

You blinked, snapping out of your daze.

Mrs. Kang: (Raising a brow) "Y/N?"

You slowly stood up, gripping your assignment one last time before turning to Taehyung.

And then, in a voice barely above a whisper-

Y/N: "Take this as your assignment now."

You extended the paper toward him.

Taehyung stared. His chest tightened.

What?

Before he could react, you turned on your heel and walked straight to Mrs. Kang.

Y/N: (Voice steady) "I'm sorry, Professor Kang. I didn't do my assignment."
